                             RURAL RENTAL HOUSING ASSOCIATION OF TEXAS (RRHA) seeks a 

                                   CONSULTANT to assist them with program and policy decisions


RRHA is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing safe affordable housing in rural areas by providing services to our members who own and operate 514 and 515 rental properties. RRHA provides services to rural housing projects and their owners including lease and application forms, management training, and advocacy for our membership with USDA, Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs, and the Texas legislature among other services. The Housing Assistance Council (HAC) seeks an exceptional Executive Director who is committed to the mission of improving housing conditions for the rural poor. The new Executive Director will be a stellar leader and communicator who is passionate about and possesses a deep understanding of rural housing issues, will be innovative, and will connect with diverse peoples and communities. The Organization
For 45 years, HAC has been a pioneer in promoting and fostering safe, secure, affordable housing in rural areas. Founded in 1971, HAC has worked to improve the lives and homes of rural Americans – particularly under-served communities in areas of Appalachia, the rural South and Mississippi Delta, the Border Colonias, and Native American Lands; and vulnerable people such as migrant and seasonal farmworkers. HAC’s mission is to improve housing conditions for the rural poor, with an emphasis on the poorest of the poor in the most rural places. HAC has an organizational budget of $5M. DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
The City of Houston's Department of Housing and Community Development (HCDD) works to create safe, stable, and complete communities by funding projects related to affordable homes, public facilities, economic development, public services and infrastructure. Partnering with non-profit, governmental and local entities, HCDD seeks to strengthen Houston's neighborhoods, provide true housing choice and execute the Mayor's vision for One Houston with complete communities throughout.
 
HCDD is seeking a Deputy Director (EXE) to join its team to oversee the successful execution of programs related to the development and preservation of long-term affordable housing. This position will oversee all development activities by HCDD including multi-family, single-family and public facilities development programs. This position will ensure HCDD's development activities are sufficiently leveraged and that the development division is sufficiently nimble and creative to address Houston's affordable housing crisis.
